As the number 1 family destination in the world, it's no secret that Walt Disney World Resort is loaded with kids. And since the theme parks require lots of walking, that also means strollers. Lots and lots of strollers of all shapes and sizes. In fact, strollers are as prominent at Disney World Parks as Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse Ears. And all those wheeled contraptions can make walking through the parks an adventure for both those with strollers and for those without.
Disney Announces New Stroller Policy
Stroller Policy Effective Date: May 1, 2019
In an effort to alleviate stroller congestion and improve park traffic flow, Disney is incorporating a new stroller policy that limits the size of strollers allowed in Disney Parks. The following was posted on Disney's websites:
New Measurements
- Width: Maximum 31"
- Length:Maximum 52"
Parks Affected by Policy Change
- Walt Disney World Theme Parks
- Disneyland Parks
Types of Strollers That Might be Affected
Have no fear, under the revised policy, the vast majority of strollers will still fall within the guidelines. All single strollers fit the size requirements, as well as many double strollers and jogger strollers. But there are some double and other multi-seat strollers that are affected by the new limitations. In addition, as stated in the policy, wagons will not be allowed. As a result, before visiting any Disney Parks, be sure to review the requirements and check your stroller size if in doubt.
Know Before You Go
- Bring Your Own Stroller - save time and money by bringing your own stroller
- Know How Your Stroller Works - Be familiar with your stroller's maneuverability, how it folds up, etc.
- Tag Your Stroller - Like suitcases in an airport, add a name tag or other identifying marker to make it easier to find your stroller in a packed stroller parking area.
- Don't Leave Your Valuables - When parking your stroller, don't leave your valuables behind.
- Collapse Your Stroller - You'll need to fold up your stroller when using Disney transportation like the parking lot trams.
- Keep Your Receipt - If you rent a Disney stroller and plan to park hop, keep your receipt for credit at the other parks.
- Be Patient - With hundreds of stroller and thousands of pedestrians going in all directions, move patiently and respectfully with your stroller.

Other Options
Another popular stroller option when visiting Disney is to simply rent one. Stroller rental facilities can be found near the park entrances and you can rent a single or double. Disney strollers offer a name placard to help you find your stroller in the busy stroller parking areas. The strollers also offer cup holders and a sun shade. However, note that Disney strollers are not padded an not ideal for smaller infants. Disney strollers also cannot be removed from the parks. So if you plan to park hop, keep your stroller receipt as it will be honored at other parks for the time of your rental.
